It is quite like an allegory that a great HongKong artist committed suicide by jumping form the 24th floor of a hotel on April 1st, the day that we call it April Fools' Day that is marked by the playing of practical jokes. For his fans, they’d rather it was just a joke, because they can’t understand why such an outstanding person made such a grievous decision to kill himself.
His name is Leslie Cheung, 46 years old. In his farewell letter, he said he was depressed and “I lost myself”. This incident in actual life is the same as the story that happened in his famous film Farewell, My Concubine （1）. At the end of this film, DieYi, which role Leslie played, killed himself because of his desperation from his gender confusion.
